Jacopo Sansovino, Bust of Christ

This extraordinarily naturalistic life-sized Bust of the Savior was made by Sansovino in Rome around 1520.  It is the model for a marble statue he carved for one of the sisters of Emperor Charles V.  It is now in one of the most celebrated collections of Renaissance art in the world.
